Mission Statement

As an institution of scholars, researchers, teachers and students, the mission of “The University of Lahore – Sihala Campus Islamabad”, a private University in the public service, is to transmit, promote and enhance the knowledge and to translate evidence based research into service. The mission of “The University Institute of Physical Therapy, University of Lahore- Islamabad Campus” is to educate the professional doctoral physical therapists, who are knowledgeable, self-assured, adaptable, reflective, humanistic, clinically oriented and who, by the virtue of critical decision making, life-long learning and ethical values, render independent judgments concerning patient/client needs. The mission of the institute is also to draw upon the resources of the university with its rich and flourished academic environment, diverse cultural community and connection to the health facilities representing all aspects of physical therapy service delivery.


The University Institute of Physical Therapy (UIPT) at The University of Lahore- Islamabad is a foundation stone for the up-coming leaders in the field of physical therapy. The objectives of the Institute are to:
* Provide an innovative physical therapy education along with clinically oriented practice at professional level to assure currency with the changing environments in health care and education.
* Stimulate the research process by professional physical therapy graduates in order to promote the science of physical therapy.
* Influence current and emerging health care practices and policies and to advance the profession. Foster leadership qualities for physical therapy practice, education and research in professional physical therapy graduates.
* Promote awareness and understanding of the needs of diverse populations in the professional physical therapists and to provide a dynamic, efficient, adaptable Physical Therapy Program.

Vision Statement:

The vision of the Physical Therapy Program is to:
* Maintain the department's long tradition of leadership and excellence in physical therapy education. Create innovative educational program.
* Promote the provision of ethical, efficient and cost effective physical therapy services.
* Serve the physical therapy needs of the national and international communities to be recognized nationally and internationally.
